ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT
For Grizo & Prasino, sustainability is more of a lifestyle than a commitment. How we cultivate, produce, and “operate” is a conscious decision and a political stance for us.
At every step, from cultivation to packaging and shipping our products, the future of the planet is our primary concern.
We believe in change and consider every effort to minimize our footprint self-evident.

WHY WHOLE LEAF

Whole leaf – Complete enjoyment.
Our herbs are offered in their entirety. Leaves, flowers, or roots. We don’t crush them or squeeze them into tea bags. We stick to this choice for the benefit of the flavor, aroma, and essence of our herbs, which would be compromised in the processing.
Whole plant parts have better taste, more active substances, better value, and are environmentally friendly. Here’s why we support the above:
Better taste – Better quality
Pre-made tea bags contain herbs that have been crushed or at least processed enough to be packaged. We believe that mechanical processing leads to the oxidation of beneficial essential oils and a qualitative degradation in taste. On the contrary, whole leaves or flowers of herbs, if stored correctly, retain their aroma, flavor, and active ingredients almost unchanged until the moment we gently break them in our palm, just before using them.
Better for the environment
The ecological footprint is much smaller. Unlike herbs sold in ready-to-use tea bags, packaged whole herb parts do not require complex packaging (which is usually reusable), and unlike ready-made tea bags, they produce significantly less waste (see paper, staple, string, box, and nylon around the box) and require much less energy consumption to become the “final product.”
Better value
The price for loose whole leaves or flowers is determined by their weight – only one or two grams are needed for each cup of herbal tea – costing much less than pre-packaged tea bags, where it’s not the weight that determines their final price.
SLOW FOOD FARM NETWORK
At Grizo & Prasino, we grow, dry, and hand-pack our herbs with care and respect for the land.
Joining Slow Food Farms is an honor that reflects what we’ve always believed: food should be good, clean, and fair.
Herbs deserve a place at the table – not just as remedies, but as true ingredients of pleasure, nourishment, everyday nourishment, and creativity.
